Why do I have a $1 charge on my payment method?

 

To fully enjoy all that the BIGSTAR Movies Membership, we request customers to place a payment method on file.  This makes it convenient to purchase BIGSTAR Movies purchases without having to updating your payment information for purchases.  

You may notice a $1 hold as part of the payment method validation.  This hold is not a charge, and will automatically be released within a few short days. 

As a good practice, if you have any questions or concerns regarding any charges you see, please feel free to contact us with any questions?


**Note that you will see this $1 hold again if payment method is changed.  

 

As with most merchants BIGSTAR Movies places an authorization hold on your credit-card account for the approximate amount of any purchase you make. Similarly, if you place or update your billing information on file, BIGSTAR Movies  will place an authorization hold on your credit-card account, usually in the amount of 1 USD, to verify your account information. These requests are not actual charges; but confirm that your credit-card account is active and has credit available for transactions. Authorization holds are removed by your financial institution shortly after your purchase clears. The amount of time it takes to remove authorization requests varies by financial institution.
